Top day for Skeet

The club conducted a 100 target skeet shoot  under ideal conditions on Sunday 31 August.  Both skeet grounds were set up early to suit the slight breeze on the day and as a result shooters enjoyed ideal targets throughout the championship event.

Amongst the local and visiting skeet shooters it was nice to see a good mix of veteran, lady and junior shooters line up for a great day of competition.  The clay target facility in Wangaratta is well regarded by shooters from across the country.   Recognized for our friendly and welcoming attitude, clear background and high standard of equipment used all makes the club a first rate sporting complex for our local community.

David Jackel won O/All & AA on 99/100.   David unfortunately dropped his 100th target after shooting consistently well during the event,  Gil. Farish from Benalla shot 96/100 with his 20 gauge U/O Miroku gun taking 2nd.  Regular visitor from Shepparton, Peter Finn took out A grade with a result of 93/100, one target ahead of Dennis Savage 92/100.  Peter’s son Colin had a good day shooting 96/100 winning B grade ahead of Royce Wojtowyez 90/100.  A score of 88/100 saw Peter Roper take out C in front of Reg. Phefley from Mount Beauty 87/100.
